2021 WO Tennis
Our world has not completely returned to normal, but we are thankful that seasons and school and functions have not been cancelled entirely, just altered a bit. Masks are still required in most places, COVID still remains, restrictions are still present and social distancing is still requested. Millions of vaccines have been given and people aren’t quite as fearful.
White Oak Tennis has been successful even with our layoff of almost a year. No tournaments have been cancelled and we’ve had no quarantines or sickness. We consider ourselves blessed for the opportunities to play a sport we love!

2020 WO Tennis
This year, 2020, the year of COVID, quarantine, masks, unfinished athletic seasons, incomplete school, cancelled proms and graduations, social distancing, separated families and loved ones, postponed vacations, sadness and fear, was the craziest and most chaotic of my lifetime. Our tennis season began as usual in January, but abruptly ended three tournaments in, the first of March. The world as we knew it came to a screeching halt!  We were told to stay home, wear masks, don’t visit anyone, wash your hands, ration your toilet paper, never touch or hug and keep a 10 foot space or wall between you and the people you love!  It seemed you were living a nightmare, and watching the news was like sitting through a horror movie. Being the optimist, I figured this terrible dream would only last a few weeks. Unfortunately, as of this post, it’s been an entire year and our world has not recuperated and returned to normal.

February 29 was our last tournament of 2020. We hosted the Region 6 TTCA 3A and Under TEAM Tournament in the Longview area. Â Unfortunately, we placed third to Kirbyville and Martins Mill respectively, and did not advance to state.
2019 WO Tennis
2019 was a very successful tennis season!
In TEAM Tennis we finished second at the Region 6 TTCA 3A and Under Tournament and qualified for the state team tennis tournament held in San Antonio where we lost to Mason, Whitesboro, and Knippa and defeated Sonora.
This was the 12th consecutive year that the boys and girls have BOTH won their district championships!
We had 9 Regional qualifiers.
